Improvements in design and construction of Epoxy Potted/Encapsulated transformers have resulted in the revision of enclosure dimensions. The sizes currently affected are: 75KVA & 100KVA 1-Phase and 9KVA & 45KVA 3-Phase.

| Price Adjustment March 01, 2011 |
To our Valued Customers & Sales Agents
You may already be aware that the severe and rapid escalation of raw material prices in North America and indeed globally, that started late in 2010 has continued into 2011. There have been continued increases in copper and aluminum materials that until now, REX Power Magnetics has been absorbing.
Considering the uncertain and volatile nature of the cost of these materials we have no choice but to issue an increase in the prices for the products we supply to you.
In the next few weeks our representatives will supply new price sheets effective in March, 2011. Purchase orders received up to March 31, 2011 will be honoured at the current price levels but they must be for immediate shipment. Outstanding orders currently in the approval stage and not released for shipment prior to April 1, 2011 must be renegotiated at the new price levels.
However unfortunate this price increase is, it is driven by factors beyond our control. The price volatility of these raw materials will affect the entire electrical transformer industry.
Once again, we ask for your understanding and remain committed to serve you responsibly and reliably with leading technology power magnetic products to meet your power distribution needs.

Energy Efficiency Legislation Amendments Effective Jan. 1 2010 (CANADA) |
The Ministry of Natural Resources Canada (NRC) has decided to amend Canada’s energy efficiency regulations to harmonize it with the new DOE efficiency levels for Medium Voltage transformers and make them also effective as of January 1, 2010. The regulations and existing efficiency levels for Low Voltage transformers are not affected by this change.
Starting from September 15, 2009 our responses to requests for quotations for Medium Voltage units likely to be produced and shipped after January 1, 2010 will be quoted as compliant with these revised and more stringent efficiency levels.

Energy Efficiency Regulation Changes Effective Jan. 1 2010 (USA) |
As you already know The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT 2005) requires that Low Voltage Dry Type Distribution Transformers (Input Voltage 600 or less) manufactured after January 1, 2007, meet the Class I Efficiency Levels for distribution transformers specified by NEMA TP-1 standards.
The DOE officials also advised in 2006 that efficiency standards for Medium Voltage Dry Type Distribution Transformers (Input voltage of 601 Volts to 34.5 kilovolts) are expected to come into effect around the year 2010. With the DOE Final Rule published Oct.12 2007 these new efficiency levels for Medium Voltage Transformers come into effect on January 1, 2010. The regulations already in effect for Low Voltage Distribution Transformers remain unchanged.
